Where Will Villa Finish?

Mark Lawrenson has reviewed the season and predicts top ten for Villa saying 'possibly a Uefa Cup spot'.

Lawro told the BBC site: 'Villa had a good start, an iffy middle and a decent finish to last season and boss Martin O'Neill will be looking for them to progress this year in his second term in charge. I would not be surprised to hear of O'Neill signing a couple more players before the transfer deadline at the end of August.' And points at John Carew as our key man.

So, our latest poll asks, ignoring the transfer situation as we don't know who is coming if anyone, where do you think we'll finish this season?

If we do get more signings, I'll repeat the poll!

Without signings, it all depends on injuries. A few key injuries and it is mid table. With a couple of decent signings and not many injuries, we could push for a Uefa place I'd think?

I would say around 8-10th myself, but with a few more players we might be able to push for the eufa spaces

I reckon UEFA, we currently have a UEFA quality squad and i dont think MON will bring in anyone worse than we already have.

After the sheff utd game could not wait to see the start of this season. This is still the case, I can see us doing quite well. It was only saturday when we destroyed inter. There are so many reasons why we should do well and not many why we wont. Top 6 no doubt.

Lawro thinks Small Heath will stay up! He loves us, doesn't he? We'll be 7-10th unless we buy what we are linked with.

Psychic Christo? As things stand, with the current squad we have, I'll say we'll finish around 10th if we stay relatively injury free, and suspensions are kept to an absolute minimum.

Teletext have predicted us to finish 8th. I'd be happy with top 10 myself, top 12 if he doesnt bring in more players by end of August.
