West Ham To Be Next Leeds? (Poll)

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Newman, who will be the next Leeds United?

West Ham apparently, well according to 58% who voted anyway! Next in danger, with 15% of the vote was Manchester City.

That left 6% saying none of the teams would do a Leeds and:

Aston Villa (4%) (nice to see the Blue noses paying us a visit!)
Portsmouth (4%)
Newcastle United (3%)
Tottenham Hotspur (3%)
Sunderland (2%)
Arsenal (2%)
Manchester United (1%)
Liverpool (1%)
Other (1%)

Our latest poll asks how many more signings, if any, you expect at Villa this summer.

sorry about lack of images, hope to get this sorted soon :(

West Ham to be the next Leeds? Who gives a *****.

Sorry but this pole should have been titled...'Who's spending are we most jealous of and therefore hope it goes wrong for them'. West Ham were always going to win this hands down. Thing is though that its not like the leeds days, even for finishing bottom you get a massive payout so its not as risky to throw more money in, hence teams like fulham throwing some cash about.

I agree with you bigdiondubs, for 1 WHU have always sold good players for good amounts of cash. 2 we've just given them 12 mill so that covers bellend and the wife's favourite(tart) freddie lung. 3 they also have a multi millionaire in charge, so the chances of them going under are very small, but if there's still people out there that think they will, I'll take that bet! the 1st time they spend big and people reakon they're going down, please, give it a rest.

Its not so much transfer fees involved, its the amazing long term mega-bucks contracts they are handing out, so with that it is kind of re-freshing to see Reo and Marlon here for football reasons and not the dosh.

The premiership could go any number of ways. Despite the increased revenue and also the influx in foreign investors, there are only ever going to be a few winners on the pitch. The investments may bring added competition but if one of those teams does get relegated it could prove disasterous in the long term for the club financially. Think of the players who would want to leave and the massive gap in revenue "if" they perhaps didn't manage to maintain instant promotion again the following season. It could ruin some clubs. I feel comfortable that villa are playing the transfer market prudently but with the knowledge that we will have to pay above the odds on a player worth investing in.

Personally I cant see there being a 'second Leeds'. Owners are wised up now, and even the craving for 'success today' wont bring about the situation of an owner/board running the risk of repeating the Elland Road disaster.

It would be nice, one of the highlights of last season was watching Big Ears sulking!

Wishful thinking on most people's part, me thinks!

I think LUFC have been a lesson to all and sundry in the football world, "How NOT to run a football club" even their club shops in Leeds City have closed down and are to let.....

I'm beginning to think we will only sign 1 more player before the season starts. Either a right back or a keeper, even though we obviously need both!

Dead right col. Everything that you shouldn't do when running a football club, the various Leeds board members have gone ahead and done.
