John Carew Becoming Villa Giant

John Carew Becoming Villa Giant

John Carew has grown considerably since joining Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old striker said that Martin O'Neill 'makes you feel 10 feet tall!'

He told the official site:

'I can always get better and improve. I feel I do that every year. Of course I am 27 and not a teenager, but I still think I have more to offer. I have to work harder now, but I will. I believe Martin O'Neill can bring even more out of me. Before I think about my long-term future and what I can achieve at Villa, I will try to do the best I can on the field. But this could be the last big move I make in my career, so I want to make the most of it.'

Adding: 'Anywhere you go, it is very important that the manager wants you. I think Martin has been following my career for a long time and he is a good guy, a great man. I am tall, but Martin makes you feel 10 feet tall. I am happy he is my manager. I want to make Villa climb the table again. I just hope I can bring something good to the club with my strength. The club want to be among the very best in a few years, so I would be happy to take them there.'

Things are certainly on the up, I hope Carew live up to his size and reputation, he looks the part, I hope he opens his account against the barcodes.

Carew may think he is 10 feet tall but the important thing is that he should hope he gets rated 10 performences for Villa
