Hendrie In Villa Park Exit?

Hendrie In Villa Park Exit?

Looks like we could be waving goodbye to Villa's longest serving player sometime before next Wednesday's transfer window deadline.

Stoke had thought they had the signature of 29-year-old midfielder Lee Hendrie this week but the player now looks set to stay in the Premiership.

Stoke's chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's official website: 'After a frustrating morning, we've been unable to secure a deal with Aston Villa for the loan of Lee Hendrie. We were desperately keen to sign Lee in advance of Saturday's FA Cup match at Fulham but, unfortunately, problems have occurred due to interest from a Premiership club. We are however, still very keen to sign Lee and we have not given up hope of securing a deal.'

Neil Warnock has been linked several times to Hendrie in his bid to keep Sheffield United up this season.

I hear it's Blackburn, actually. Hendrie can park his Ferarri next to Savo's caravan.

Its a shame i like the lad & he has took nothing but stick off certain sections of the crowd just because his FAMILY support the blues. Shocking treatment of one of our players

Blackburn need a signing, heard one of their players has a broken leg, (now isn't that a damn shame) I am sure the prem will miss his silky smooth ball skills.

And chaps, please stop calling him a Gyppo, the Gypsey community are a proud travelling people with one of the longest histories. They would spit on such as he.

TuBBz -I doubt if it has anything to do with his family's activities. It's just down to him and how he has conducted himself, both on and off-field (mainly off-field) for all the time he has been at VP since he made his first game in 95/96 as a 19year old. Extremely talented, pashionate but totally irresponsible. He should have made it too the top but had too much money too soon!.

Its not money but education. The educated act responsibly (90% of the time) I doubt that Hendrie went back to school after he signed junior forms with the Villa.

Some folks can handle early riches, others not. 19-year olds as a group are rather irresponsible. There are many, however, that are mature far beyond their years and they are a joy to be around.
