Unoial Villa News...

According to the Daily Mirror, Jlloyd Samuel has warned Martin O'Neill that if he does not win his place back he will leave in the summer; 'I just want to play football. If that doesn't happen, I'll have to go elsewhere' Jlloyd Samuel Threatens Villa Exit (By Mackaavfc)

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Mackaavfc, the reason for English players over inflated prices? 47% said not many good ones about, 20% Chelsea have forced all the prices up, 16% the clubs are willing to pay the fees, 10% so many foreign flops, leaving 4% not caring and just wanting the fees paid by Villa and 3% unsure.

Luckless Mark Delaney admits he could well have played his last game for the Villa as his contract runs out in the summer and he has been told he will not be able to return for 4-6 months. Full article: Mark Delaney Fears End

However Martin O'Neill says it might not be the end of the Wales international. 'I will not rule him out at Villa. I will wait for mark to get back and will see the prognosis and see how things are. I have absolutely no intention now of ruling anything out at all. Could we offer him a short-term deal? There are all sorts of options open to us, absolutely.' Full article: Click Here

Vital Villa asked if we should sell Milan Baros amidst numerous links outward for the Czech international striker. Seems only 11% want him to stay, with a further 1% unsure. That left 24% saying he should be sold and the majority, with 61%, saying he should be sold but only if we have a quality replacement for him.

Baros has now gone to Lyon and John Carew has joined Aston Villa. Full article: Villa And Lyon Swap Strikers

John Carew has spoken of his move to Villa: 'Aston Villa is a big English club and I've always known about the team. There is a big interest in the team in my country Norway, so I'm really happy to be here. I've been lucky to play for big teams, in Spain and Italy especially. I've just been playing in France - with the French champions. So I've played for some good teams and with some of the best players in the world. Now I have a big challenge and I'm really looking forward to it.' Full article: Carew Up For The Challenge

Patrik Berger is looking to force his way into first team contention and Martin O'Neill is happy the former Czech international apologised.. Click Here

Levante apparently want Olof Mellberg. Well so do we and he is going nowhere! The bearded one talks of the Watford game, as does Gabby.. Full article: Levante Can Sod Off!

Martin O'Neill reacted to the 2-0 win over Championship bound Watford saying it was a 'great win'. Adding, after a nervous and scrappy game he said: 'We fully deserved the three points today. It was a great win.' Click Here

Great, we asked for it, we got it, a statement from Stiliyan Petrov. 27-year-old former Celtic midfielder has said he is not looking to leave Aston Villa. He said, on my favourite radio station, Darik Radio (!) 'I am very happy in Birmingham. I have no intention of moving.' So there you have it.

Great news about Stiliyan Petrov. I rate the guy highly, and believe that this time next season, following a full pre-season with us, playing alongside the other talented individuals that the MON/RL combo will undoubtedly bring onboard, he'll prove to be a central key figure in the new look AVFC team. The Levante link provided a good chuckle, while the rejuvenated and apologetic Patrik Berger story proved that MON will never cut off his nose to spite his face. Have we ever had it so good?

So glad Petrov cleared that up. I didn't believe the rumours at first but they seemed to just keep growing. I think a fit Petrov will be a valuable member of our new, improved Aston Villa side.
