Lyon Boss Confirms Baros Interest

Lyon Boss Confirms Baros Interest

Gerard Houllier, manager of Lyon, has confirmed he has had a change of heart and has made an enquiry for Villa striker Milan Baros.

Houllier had said he wouldn't give Baros a second chance to turn him down but now says he is interested in taking the forward who he managed whilst Liverpool manager.

He told Lyon's official site today, 'Yes, I can confirm that I have seen Milan Baros' agent. Only fools never change their minds.'

He is an excellent player and in a team creating chances would excel. There is no 'quality replacement' - unless you want to spend 20 million on Jermaine Defoe.

is he quality though? i mean ok hes fast, good touch and everything and scores goals for his country. but does he pick out a pass? has he ever changed a game for us? does he even look up when hes running with the ball? why does he always need a 5 yard sprint when he first has the ball and run into trouble? how many times has he taken the game to the opposition, and won the game for us when we've needed him? a quality player surely needs these attributes as well

"is he quality though? i mean ok hes fast, good touch and everything and scores goals for his country" - this would suggest he is quality to me.

Baros has been around in the premiership for some time now, and he hasnt done much to light it up. I dont know why you would want to hold on to him, lots of potential, but can he score 20 goals in a season for villa? i doubt it.

Never been a fan of Baros, but needs must, I just wish he would put in a dazzling performance to show the quality he seems to have been lacking since his move to Villa.

But we should only sell him if we get someone in, i'm sick of us selling all of our players before we get anyone in. Are youngsters are not that good that they will kep us in the premiership with out a problem

yeah agreed, i would be interested to see a carew/baros partnership, similar to koller/baros. doesnt look like its going to happen though. mackaavfc, it takes more than speed and touch to be a quality player. rooney, ronaldo, henry - they are quality. compare what they contribute to what baros contributes.
