Spurs Midfielder A Villa Target

According to The Times, Aston Villa have made a move for Tottenham midfielder Teemu Tainio.

The report claims Villa are already in talks with the Finnish attacking midfielder after the two clubs apparently agreed fees.

I find this one hard to believe, if they'd agreed fees the club would have announced it like they have over the Ashley Young transfer deal.

I briefly asked White Hart from Vital Spurs.

He said: 'He is fantastic, everything Aston Villa could wish for and more. I would recommend you buy him now, in fact if you like I'll pay his taxi fare for you or drive him up myself if that helps'.

Right, thanks for that, I think........

Tainio has started just 9 games for Spurs this season plus came off the bench once. He has 1 Premiership goal.

I'm a bit naive, is the picture showing him having a blow job or is he playing an invisible flute?

When fit he is a dynamo. And he gives all for the team and can score. I will be sad to see him leave Spurs.

Would be a great signing for your guys, not the most skill full player ever, but can play all acrsoss the middle and behind the strikers, will run and chase all day and can pick a pass and score goals. He also has champs league experience.

I hope he does not leave Spurs as he always gives 100% and he will play anywhere, a great player to have in any squad. Keeps picking up injuries of late so not at his best yet this season.

what do you meas of late, he only ever plays 4 games in a row, then gets injured, he has been the same since joining us. His style suits the prem, but unfortunately his body is not tough enough to handle his style IMO

As usual, the first comments are taking the "*****". Grow up, this could be a good signing who gives 110% - a good midfield "stopper", very much like McCann. We need players in the squad like this as well as SWP and Young.

If he is willing and able get him in, the scandanavians are usually good buys as they grow up watching the prem.

I think this Finn is first rate. I was always impressed by his work rate last season for Spurs, and he can play anywhere--right back, midfield, wing. He hasn't been much in sight this season, which is a mystery to me, as even Murphy, at 83, seems gets more play time. And whoever that new Egyptian not Mido is.

There do appear to be quite a few of us hoping for and expecting top notch experienced players in this transfer window, and this really is not viable at this time of the year in my humble opinion. Now providing the Spurzzzz fans are not on a wind up I would be more than happy to have 100% trier join our threadbare squad. (Ducks and runs for cover)

We're linked with anybody and everybody. I just roll with it. Come 1st february we'll know what was what, and what was never meant to be. If all the Villans who posted on here got themselves down to VP tomorrow, just think, we might top 30,000.

Why are we even contemplating signing such an average player - it's not as if he is a youngster - he'll be 28 this year - and for three million?! Also he has constant injury problems - if we are going to take a risk on an injury-prone player - why not David Dunn?

If he's always getting injured and you Spurs fans don't want to see him go, then keep him, we already have Delaney to fill that role at VP :-)

Any player who gives 100% will do for me. Villa need players to commit and play week in week out giving 100%.

Buy him or whatever but tell them punks that the deal will not include barry. They cant have him and if they dont like it they can go pull themself
