'If It's Football, It's Vital'

THE END FOR ELLIS?

WOW. Father Christmas does exist.

According to Michael Neville, the 64m takeover of Aston Villa could go through by the New Year.

Neville is the spokesman for consortium headed by Brian and Luke Comer of Irish building company Comer Homes.

He said, in an interview with the Birmingham Mail: 'The deal will not be completed before Christmas but there is a possibility it could be completed by the New Year.'

Adding - and it will be music to the ears (as long as it become reality obviously!) - 'I think that Champions League football is a realistic possibility within three years. I would love to see them back in Europe.'

Neville has confirmed that the Comers have met face to face with the Villa board and he says "I am still very upbeat about completion of the transaction."

Villa spokesman Phil Mepham have said the club aren't making any further comments at present, although I'm sure that won't stop his phone ringing a 1000 times today!
