Hendrie Splits Opinion Again

Lee Hendrie, who is out of contract in the summer at Villa, returned from his loan spell at Stoke following their win against Leeds.

The midfielder said: “I don’t know what’s happening at the moment but I’ve enjoyed my spell at Stoke and would love to stay here. There is talk about another loan until the end of the season and there has also been interest from one or two others. The Stoke supporters have been amazing. They deserve a lot of credit for helping the team put together a great run.”

Vital Villa asked what should happen to the conundrum that is Lee Hendrie and once again, the votes were very split, he is certainly good at dividing opinion that is for sure!

37% said get him back for good and give him a new contract, 36% said sell him!

1% wanted him to be sent back out on loan and 5% were unsure saying he has had so many chances already.

That left 21% thinking he should be kept at Villa short term until the summer to bolster the squad.

Get rid - overpaid, over rated with an over inflated opinion of himself.
mackaavfc
we need him, for the short term at least
jonah
tend to agree with mackaavfc but just always have that 'what if' feeling as when he is on form, he is a good player, I think he should have been brought back whilst we were so low on numbers but i'd not bank on him being used now, especially since he has said he would love to stay at stoke, he must have the feeling or been told he isn't wanted at Villa to say that surely?
The Fear
I think we get rid of Lee Hendrie once and for all, he'll never do anything for us in a Villa shirt and it's time for him and his stupid attitude to take a hike. On form he can be a good player, but thats all he is 'a good player'
Thegreatdando
Got to agree with Jonah. We need the guy right now. Review our options during the coming summer, but as of right now Lee should remain at VP. Start him against Chelsea tomorrow night.

Cant do worse than what we are currently doing, if he is fit and why not give him a 3-4 game run in midfield. I bet he would go either "Over the top" sent off after 10 mins or struggle to get back into the games in General.

Get rid and buy some real quality in January, although I realise thats easier said than done.
DeanoVilla
time to sell on and raise some investment capital....
ernshaw
Do we need investment capital? I doubt if we would get much for Hendrie anyway and still think that, at least until the end of the season, he could still do a job for us, give some of the young lads a rest and give us a bit more experience and creativity in midfield. gawd knows we are sadly lacking in both at the moment.
jonah
The only step forward with Hendrie is to offload him.
The Usual Suspect
As the title says 'Hendrie splits opinion again' :-)
jonah
Get rid. I can't imagine he's a popular figure to have around the place with his sulking and petulance and he can't cut it at top level anymore. O'Niel's no fool. If he was good enough, he'd still be here. No doubt he can do a job in the Championship but as with everything else, Lee Hendrie ever does..it wont last long. Time to offload him and bring in some better players.

Still a fan of giving people a chance under MON, I know he has had many, and MONs reaction does point to a lack of interest, but a spot on the subs bench followed by a good performance ot two would be usefull to us at the moment
steff_the_villan
At the end of the day, I just dont think MON rates him. Wonder if they've had a falling out?
