Villa Will Wait On Delaney Decision

Villa have issued a response to Mark Delaney's transfer request. The Villa right back put in a written request today.

Doug Ellis (shame he doesn't want out as well isn't it?!) told the official site: 'We have an option which must be activated by March 1 and we won't be making a decision just yet. Mark has just returned from the latest in a series of unfortunate injuries and we'll assess his fitness over the next couple of months before making any long term decisions'

Villa do have a one year option on Delaney, but lets face it, if a player wants out, they usually get their requests granted. You can understand any player wanting out of Villa Park at the moment, but I have to admit, due to his injury problems, I can't really blame the club in their stance either. That said, we are desperately short of defenders and if we allow him to leave, we really will be down to the brass tacks, especially bearing in mind our 'great leader' has said there is no money to spend.

Not exactly happy days for Villa is it?!
