Villa To Lose Another Goalkeeper?

Villa might be about to lose yet another goalkeeper as Crystal Palace might be forced to recall Gabor Kiraly, currently on loan to replace the injured Thomas Sorensen and Stuart Taylor, due to an injury to Julian Speroni.

The Palace loan deal has a 24 hour re-call clause and Palace boss Peter Taylor explained:

'We are still waiting on the outcome of Julian's scan. We might have to bring Gabor back, but we will wait and see.'

That would make things tough, and would be interesting to see how Olejnik does. How long are Tommy and Taylor out for? And who would be the sub 'keeper if Olejnik started?

Back to the old days of "risking" not having a kepper on the bench?

No it's a keeper that you don't get to keep long.

Start Robert Olejnik at The Valley on Saturday no matter what. The kid needs the experience.

col8..what r u on about? we haven't 'lost' two keepers..in case u hadn't noticed they are both injured..kiraly is on a temporary loan so if palace recalled him then so be it..olejniks no. 2 if it came to it i believe would be a guy called Henderson. He is very young and is Irish. Its not Wayne Henderson as we obviously sold him, but its his brother. Nothing more than a potential asset but it would be way too soon to throw him into a Premiership game!

I think col was being sarcastic mate. I dont see a problem with playing the beast. He looks a better keeper than Kiraly and young keepers have been thrown in before and done well, i.e Carson and Robinson at Leeds. I dont think we should be over protective of the keepers, they wont be relied on for a long period and would be desperate to play in the first team so I dont think its to soon to 'throw them in' (a phrase which sounds as though they are being played against their will or something)
