Player Not Motivated By Money Shock!

Player Not Motivated By Money Shock!

Steven Davis, who signed a new 3 1/2 year deal at Villa on Tuesday, says the money wasn't the motivation, it is winning things that interests him.

'I am ambitious, I want to win things and with the quality we have in the squad at Villa I believe I can do that here. Our aim this season was to qualify for Europe and if we can put a few results together there is every chance of achieving that.'

The Northern Ireland midfielder added: 'I am happy at the club, have enjoyed being part of the team since making my debut last season and was happy to commit myself to Villa.'

He also didn't believe the links to Manchester United saying: 'I put the Manchester United thing down to paper talk and took it with a pinch of salt. To be linked with a club like that shows that I must be doing well though.'

Davis is currently Villa's top scorer with five goals, three in the Premiership.
