'If It's Football, It's Vital'

He's Got No Hair & We Don't Care

Former Villa player Steve Stone has decided to hang up his boots at the age of 35 after Leeds United terminated his contract by mutual consent.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: 'It's an amicable settlement and I'm looking forward to concentrating on my media interests.'

Stone joined Villa in 1999 from Nottingham Forest and stayed until 2002 when he moved to Portsmouth.

So, one more time:

He's got no hair
and we don't care
Stevie Stevie Stone!

I always liked the combatative midfielder, though his career was blighted by injuries which certainly affected the number of England caps he picked up. Lets hope he can remain injury free for his media work!!!

Good luck to him. Deserved more in an injury-ravaged career, and was a top player in his peak. Someone who I always liked.

Good footballer, but sadly we never saw the best of him.

Not sure he ever did enough at Villa to get a mention on here. Slow news day JF?
DeanoVilla
no, I liked Stonie, thought the price tag was pathetically high but when not injured he did a job for us!
The Fear
Had been rumoured as a traget for us last summer.
SeasideEssexXile
Came from nowhere at Forest to take the City ground by storm, but never truly realised his potential.
