Newsflash - Keeper Required!

The official site has just explained that Villa have been given permission by the Premier League to take a keeper on loan because Stuart Taylor has had to undergo knee surgery which rules him out for the Christmas fixture lists.

With Thomas Sorensen also out injured Villa only have 20-year-old Austrian Robert Olejnik left as an option and he has no Premiership experience.

So the search is on for temporary cover. Crushing blow for Taylor who had to wait for an injury to Sorensen before he got a chance, this was meant to be his opportunity to make a claim for the No1 shirt. Get better soon Mr T and Mr S.

So, where does that leave us? What potential keepers are out there, anybody know?
jonah
Barthez :P rofl my bad
Layzee
surely Chelski could let us have one!?
The Fear
got to feel sorry for Taylor though, got his chance and picked up an injury. Hopefully it isn't too serious.
The Fear
its a bit of a footie manager suggestion but craig gordon of hearts looks set to leave, scotlands no1 only 23 maybe worth a punt
godworeno5
might be that a keeper not in our league would be needed, why would our competition help us out afterall?
The Fear
Why not just give 2 of the youngsters a chance? We have plenty dont we? Olejink, W Henderson, S Henderson, others in the youth team.
DeanoVilla
bozzie - our greatest ever keeper - where is he now
qKing
There's always Enkleman of Blackburn :-)
jonah
Kasper Schmeichel :) @ I think that FA allows only England-based keepers for this kind of emergency loan, there are no border-cross players allowed. But I am not sure about it.
Majkee
if we cannot have Shay Given then my shout would be Wayne Henderson, where is he?
irish villa
what about getting Postma back to fill the gap, so to speak.
mackaavfc
Postma could be a good 'stop-gap'
jonah
Could certainly 'plug the hole' temporarily.
mackaavfc
You are right Majkee - he wanted Klos but cant have him because he is north of the border. From what I have heard Olejnik may be okay temporarily. Maybe Richard Wright if the Toffees are generous!!! Olejnik could tide us over until Jan 1st where Craig Gordon should be brought in. He is an excellent young player. Arsene Wenger said he would be a great Premiership keeper after the Scotland v France game.
deano.avfc
We had this problem at Bournemouth a few years ago. Wish both keepers the best of luck in a speedy recovery. If you don't find a suitable keeper, try Marcus Browning - he was the answer to our problems!
getintoem
qking what planet are you on bossie our best ever goalie what codswallop!!!!!!!!
sdcman
thomas myhre, currently at charlton. norwegian international, even looks like sørensen!
nikkersen
Zuberbuhler at the baggies currently out of favour due to change of manager. has played 17 games this season . better than somebody who has been a bench polisher for years?
Villan57
I'd play Olejnik in goal on Saturday, with the loan keeper, whoever he may turn out to be, on the bench, then take it from there. Young Olejnik has always looked a confident, capable keeper to me, and I've actually seen quite a bit of him, so lets give him a start and see how he handles it.

I've just heard on Sky Sports News that Villa are trying to sign Gabor Kiraly on loan from Crystal Palace as cover for Tommy and Taylor....
Thegreatdando
I'd be happy with him for the time being. Grey jogging bottoms all round!!
DixonTheVillain
we have signed him on a month loan (Gabor Kiraly) not bad plently of experiance at international level (70 caps for Hungary)
Newman
A worrying signing. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us.
