Villa To Pick Bogeys and Win

Villa To Pick Noses

Time for Aston Villa to finally pick their nose and get rid of Manchester City as our bogey team.

Martin O'Neill has promised that Villa will be quick off the starting block and will have 'all guns blazing'.

Our record is awful v the light blues of Manchester, with 3 league and cup wins since the Premiership began. That is 22 games, 12 losses and 7 draws. (Figures from the official site).

O'Neill said: 'I suppose, like everything, if you look at the two home games, if you can win the first one it takes a little bit of pressure off. I'll not disagree with that. But overall it is not the way I am looking at it. The Premiership is hard. We are disappointed at the moment but we have an opportunity to go out on Wednesday with all guns blazing. It is an opportunity for us again, as there always is, but we are going to go for it.'

And on Citeh, 'It is a different time and so I wouldn't be overly bothered about that. I'd prefer people not to mention it - so the players don't get to hear about it! But it doesn't concern me.'

Ooops, sorry.

Our latest poll asks if we'll win, lose or draw tomorrow night.

We need the three points, its as simple as that. With a reasonably tough run of fixtures ahead of us, through in fact until mid-late January, we really need to beat City, particularly after Saturdays somewhat disappointing draw with Middlesbrough.
