'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It Will Always Be Villa Park

Vital Villa asked what you thought of the talk of stadium renaming despite the fact it isn't happening, I was just interested in your opinions following the latest reports on the issue! Villa Park IS NOT being renamed

Seems the vast majority don't care as 59% say it doesn't matter as it will always be Villa Park to them.

22% said it would be a great way to generate money.

Only 11% were dead against it saying it would be sacrilidge leaving 8% with mixed feelings.

Surprised it was quite so high with people saying they weren't too bothered, be interesting to see how the non-internet fans would react to the same question, especially the older generation.

It would be sad but i also relise sentiment gets you nowhere, Imagine the new wembley with the old twin towers. football is big business now and still growing, come twenty years you will find unsponsered grounds will be in the minority.

If we made 100 Million plus of it I do not think that many people would have a problem with it. Because every fan would still call it Villa Park.

Even if they get sponsored it would "Cadburys Villa Park" # "EasyJet Villa Park" I dont think Villa will ever lose the Villa Park name, those grounds that have had New Names have all been New Stadiums.

The option will always there to sell off the ground name. In ten years time it will in all probability be commonplace in the U.K. game. Money talks.

If its a choice between Villa Park and mid table or Budweiser Bowl and having the revenue for MON to spend on his goal of making Villa European Cup winners again... let me think!! Whatever, it'll always be VP... UTV

A name changed can be a name changed back. Let's take the money, run to the top of the league and see what happens...we could always rename the Doug Ellis stand as the Villa Park stand!!!!

Sell off the rights to each individual stand. That should generate some cash.
