An Angel is for life, not just for Christmas as the Columbian international looks to stay at Villa and get back amongst the goals. Juan Pablo Angel, who broke his scoring drought that spanned back seven months against Bolton last weekend said 'At the end of the year I just hope that my season looks better than it does now' after admitting 'I won't use any excuses. It has been disappointing but the season is far from over.'
But he laughs off reports that he wants to leave saying: 'I still feel that I have a big job to do here and I will keep working, as always. I knew that that run wouldn't last forever. It wasn't that I had forgotten to score goals. I've been doing that here for a few years now. I need to pick up the pace now and hopefully score more goals.'
'I still think that I've got some years left in my career. Injury-wise I have never had any problems at all, never any major injuries, so I will keep going. People that know me will know I haven't been feeling sharp and well, but the last few weeks for the first time I have started to feel really good.''
Go on Angel, show us what you are made of, get a few against Manchester United at the weekend!? Mind you, the midfield will need to sort out the supply for any of our strikers to start scoring on a regular basis. At the moment the leading scorer amongst the strikers is Kevin Phillips on 3. Luke Moore and Milan Baros both have 2 and Angel has 1. It can't just be down to them now can it?
