ial Villa News...
Martin O'Neill has once again had to quell the rumour that Villa are about to sign former Celtic legend Henrik Larsson He told Sky Sports News 'I was in Scotland last night, John Robertson and Henrik Larsson were inducted into Scotland's Hall of Fame which is a great honour for them and is fantastic. And maybe that might be where you are running that line that Henrik Larsson may be about to sign. Let me tell you, there is not an ounce of truth in it. Absolutely none. So if you could quell that rumour as quickly as possible it would be great.' Reading between the lines there, I reckon we won't be signing Henrik Larsson? :o)
Reports in the People this weekend have suggested Aston Villa are watching Wolves in-form goalkeeper Matt Murray with a view to a possible January transfer window swoop. There have also been suggestions that Villa might try to get the shot stopper on loan first. The report also suggests that the goalies form has caught the eye of Steve McClaren.
Tickets for the trips to Portsmouth (Dec 2) and Sheffield United (Dec 11) are now on General Sale.
Peter Whittingham and Gabby Agbonlahor have both been named in the England Under 21 squad.
Celtic forward Shaun Maloney , who has been linked several times to Aston Villa, has called off contract talks until January according to the Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell. Full details: Click Here

Stiliyan Petrov is aiming high and asks Why can't Villa 'do an Everton' and finish fourth? 'They (Everton) showed two seasons ago it's possible for clubs to break into the top four. We can do the same. Why not? European football is incredible and the Villa players want to achieve it next season. I've got used to winning things. I see no reason why I should lower my ambitions now.' Full article: Click Here

I've got a spot on my ear although I guess strictly speaking, or speaking in any sense (not that I ever speak with any sense you understand) that can't really be classed as Villa news..... come to think of it, it might not be classed as news full stop. Nice to share though eh?
For those that can see the Villa Times but not the sticky article above it, General Charles Krulak has answered questions from Vital Villa readers: Full interview: Click Here If you want less than the full interview, put your hand over half the answers.
Martin O'Neill has admitted that he might well recall Lee Hendrie from his loan spell at Stoke. Lil Lee might be coming home, how lovely. Full quotes: Click Here
Stiliyan Petrov says that Chris Sutton , who he first played with at Celtic, will only improve as he gains match fitness and says he could make the difference in our quest for Europe. Click Here
Stiliyan Petrov says his first goal for Aston Villa isn't far away. The midfielder went close again at Goodison Park only to be foiled by Toffees keeper Tim Howard (bloody American's !!! ;) on Saturday but Petrov says: 'As long as you have chances, you try and you work hard, the goals will come. When? We'll see. I forced a couple of saves on Saturday but that's football. A lot of people keep asking me when I will score for Villa and all I can say is that the goal will come. I will keep trying and it will come.'
Thought for the day: If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?
