Lee Hendrie Should Be Re-Called
Martin O'Neill says that Villa are keeping a close eye on Lee Hendrie.
(de-ja-vu as I wrote this yesterday, lost it and so it never got posted!)
The Villa boss also says there is a 24 hour recall clause in the 29-year-old's deal with The Potters.
Hendrie is on fine form for Stoke and has three goals in six games and has impressed in a loan that is meant to last three months at the Britannia Stadium.
Some reports are suggesting that tomorrow's clash with Coventry could be his last game as people have put 2+2 together and see from O'Neill's quote an imminent re-call. I must admit, I'm not sure I can see it myself!
O'Neill said: 'We've got an instant recall clause now and I'm much happier about that. He's gone and got fit, and played well, and we are monitoring him closely.'
Vital Villa asked if we should recall Hendrie,
46% said yes.
10% said not yet.
16% thought he should see out his loan until January.
On the other hand 24% said he shouldn't be re-called and thought he should be sold.
That left 4% who were unsure.

Funny, no matter how many false dawns we've had, he still splits opinion but most (or at least many) STILL want him to do well and do well at Villa.

So LH has been on the left side of midfield, which he couldn't do at villa as Barry is there. Not sure where he'd fit in unless we get an injury again.

Lee Hendrie is typical of the players we've had in recent years - nearly but not quite good enough. No direspect to him, I'm sure he's a good lad, but we need better quality.

I like Hendrie, always have and still think he is good enough to get into the team.

but at the moment we don't have the numbers so he makes a good squad member.

Agree with The Fears last entry. We have a small squad and at the moment I prefer him to Agathe on the right hand side of mid when called upon.

I say that yes, he should be recalled, if only initially because we are short on numbers, and will be until January at the very earliest. He's gone to Stoke, got himself fit, and by all accounts he's doing the business. Good for him. I feel he still has plenty to offer us, but then again I like Lee, and want to see him do well at Villa Park.

maybe just what Hendrie needed, certainly doing the business for stoke, the lads working his socks off to impress MON, whatever is said about him, he is a Villa man through and through, and it may be just me, but I realy like fans playing for the club they love, just seems to add to their passion, (and yes we all know he hasn't always shown it). Good luck to him, I still believe he has something to add to our team, and could be a very valuable asset. UTV

Yes, he'd be a better option than Didier Agathe. That deal just hasn't worked out.
