Villa To Attack Liverpool

According to the official site Martin O'Neill has never lost as a manager in all his trips to Anfield and according to me, he isn't about to start now!

O'Neill said: 'Leicester used to do well there, but I don't think those things matter a jot. This is a new football club, and a new team and I just think that Liverpool are fairly obviously one of the top four sides in the country. They won the European Cup just recently and their own particular plans or designs are to win the League Championship. We are going there to defend an unbeaten record and we are going to try to do our very best to do so.'

Adding 'They might be disappointed with a few away performances. One thing, you would certainly not be sure of the team we are going to face because they change their team around accordingly. But whichever side we face it is going to be a big game for us.'

And most encouragingly of all, O'Neill thinks the best form of defence is attack saying 'We might get beaten but I have absolutely no doubt that we will go there and have a go.....I think we will have a go. Definitely. I promise you. And if we are sitting back towards the end then it may be because we are holding on to something. If we are - great. We will definitely have a go. I would love to remain unbeaten after tomorrow. I genuinely would. But is it a millstone around our necks? Absolutely not. Not at all.'

Come on Baros, show your former employees what they are missing and convince the doubters amongst the Lions.

Attacking them from the off could be a good plan as with their rotation system it must take the players 10-15mins to settle at the start of each game with new players around them all the time.

I hope Fowler doesn't play, he always scores against us!!!

Best way to approach the game is to attack them. Take the game to them from the off. Their confidence is not particularly sky-high, despite their mid- week victory against Reading. Allowing three goals against them at Anfield wont have gone down too well, and they are bound to me somewhat nervous in the early stages. If we could grab an early goal, then who knows.

A Villa manager that wants to go away from home and attack the opposition, possibly with more than one striker... whatever next a Villa manager that shows emotion on the touch line!! :-) UTV

My big concern though is do we really have the players capable of taking the game to the scousers? This is the game where we could get found out.
