Juan Pablo Angel Looking For Wins

Juan Pablo Angel has said Aston Villa have got to get back into winning ways after seeing the team remain the only unbeaten side in all divisions but picking up six draws along the way.

The Columbian striker, guilty himself of missing a few match winning opportunities this season, said:

'We have to start picking up points and winning games if we want to be well up the table. It's alright to remain unbeaten but we need to get results. We have to start winning games if we want to compete for those top places. The expectation has grown over the last few weeks because of our performances and we have shown people we can compete in the higher part of the table. But we have got to cope with expectations and keep going and keep working hard and winning games, because that is the only thing that keeps us in a good position. We have still got some momentum. The confidence is high. An indication of the change in atmosphere here is even though we didn't lose against Fulham last weekend, we are disappointed.'

'That was because we think we can do much better than that. The manager wants to be up there and if we want to be up there, we have to win games.'

New boy Stiliyan Petrov agrees adding: 'We definitely have the confidence and we are still unbeaten but I think we need to get more aggressive and we need to get more points. We need to start winning the games, not just drawing them.'

It's laughable what these players come out with sometimes. How can he of all people say we need to be winning more games when he single handedly lost us 2 points vs Spurs!

The simple remedy to start turning these one point games into three pointers, is to start putting the chances away. Great start, better than anyone could have ever hoped for during the summer, but if we're going to be critical then points have definitely been tossed away due to spurning relatively clear cut openings.

We cant score goals, as simple as that, and until we can, then drawn games and solitary points is probably the best we can hope for.
