Villa Fans Make All The Difference

Villa Fans Make All The Difference

For those that don't visit the official site, the club are promoting the sales of tickets, especially half-season tickets.

They say: With Half Season Tickets now on sale, the simple message for the Claret and Blue Army is that we need you for what promises to be an exciting New Year. The fact is that you can make a difference. If you don't believe us, just take a look at what the following have to say:
General Charles C Krulak: 'The fans are what makes the experience. If the fans weren't there in the stands, winning on the field would not mean anything. To see the excitement of a Villa fan is very special! The constant roar and din of Villa Park is something else.'

Martin O'Neill: 'The fans have been terrific so far this season. They can really play a part and it's up to us to get them on their feet.'

Gareth Barry: 'Everyone's been lifted this season. The noise the fans have been making has been superb and I'm just glad we're giving them something to shout about.'

Stiliyan Petrov: 'The fans have made me feel very welcome and their support is what pushes the players on - hopefully they can push us all the way to Europe.'

Juan Pablo Angel: 'There's nothing better than a full Villa Park. When we go out there and the fans are making lots of noise, it lifts every single player.'

I'll print this out and take it with me in case that steward threatens to eject me for rattling the advertising hoarding when cheering the team on!!!!

It would certainly be great to start getting more seats sold, maybe an offer to the out of work Rover guys would also help, as would tickets for local schools and cub scouts etc. I'm sure a few new player arrivals will also help keep the buzz growing at Villa, as will European Football. Who can forget the feelings and excitement the atmosphere created at some of our big European games? It used to make my hair stand up at the back of my neck, that is when I had hair you understand! :(

Think it is a bit wrong of Stiliyan expecting us all to push them into Europe, surely these highly paid players can get a ferry or a plane? And if not, do they have chariots to sit on and in that case, surely we'll be pulling them? :o)

It must be a Villa disease to have no hair :-) I couldn't agree with you more though. Crowds have been poor for years when you consider that the Villa has been the only team in the Midlands to be in the Premiership. The catchments area is huge when you see where the nearest Premiership Club is. Unfortunately many people say they refused to go to games because of the Ellis factor... but where are they now? They are those fickle fans I mention in another article. They love to moan and be negative but then disappear when things change. For the last 20 years Villa could have become the largest supported Club in England, when you consider the other failing Midland Clubs around us but Ellis never promoted the club to the youngsters who would now be the foundation of our up and coming years of success. So come on Villa fans, put your money where your mouths are and show that you can support a Club. If not sod off and belittle Small Heath like you have undermined this great Club for years.

Thanks for your comments Hoss. I refused to go to VP whilst Ellis & the Clueless One were there. I have been to each game I could make this season, but some of have to work weekends! As for me "sodding off" to Small Heath, F**k You! Twats like you telling people where to go and what to do are the scum of this country!

If you had as much passion about supporting your Club as do about voicing an oppinion then the atmosphere at Villa Park would be great. Unfortunately as you don't understand the point I'm making then you probably have the mentality of a blue nose.

I have been quite a drum beater on these pages over attendances. However there are reasons people do and do not go to football matches. I agree with some sentiments from the hoss, unfortunately diplomacy is probably not his strong suit. Reddi, do not take the insults personally. It is obvious from the hoss's comment they were not aimed at you. However it is fact that for years many Villa fans have said they would not come whilst Ellis is in charge. Some used the manager of the of day as an excuse. So all things considered why did we get less people attending the Fulham game this season, than last season. It appears that many thousands looked for an excuse not to attend, and now the excuses are not there they still do not turn up, they have just melted in to the background. No doubt as soon as things are not all rosy they will be here again, dragging the club down. So reddi, welcome back to VP. Now how about bringing along your wife, kids, girlfriend (boyfriend???) and a few mates. If all the newly returned fans do that, Villa Park will be rocking once more. It may be worth noting that the clubs who continue to fill there grounds generally (with exceptions), have long term success. The Arse, Redscouse and Manure show this. Newcrapstle being the exception. Blackburn also showed that without the necessary fan base, success will be shortlived. It is vital that we fill Viila Park. This will attract better investment, better players, bigger ground, more trophies, better investment, better players, bigger ground ......... you get the picture. So whilst there are fans that can not buy season tickets for many reasons, there are thousands who could. If these fans returned to VP, the good times are just around the corner. So to those fans who can, but who choose not to, the club are asking them very nicely to return to the Villa family. It is a fine dividing line between success and failure and every fan makes a difference. Buy your season tickets wherever possible. UTV

If Petrov wasn't speaking about Europe we'd be questioning his ambition for himself and the noghty Villa. Well done Petrov!

Its good to receive acknowledgement from directors, players, and team management, makes a change from being ignored or abused as was the case with the previous incumbents.
