Juan Pablo Angel Backs Milan Baros

Juan Pablo Angel has backed Milan Baros to bounce back from his slump on fitness and form.

The former Liverpool striker was injured in training before the World Cup and has looked a shadow of the player he was last season since his return to the Villa side. Baros was replaced just after half time by Didier Agathe on Saturday against Fulham but Angel says the Czech international will come good.

'Milan is a quality player. I didn't think this was a particular good day for the strikers. We have to really work hard but we didn't have that many chances and it was one of those times. I am sure when he starts to score goals he will show how important he is for us and we need him at his best because he is a quality player as he has shown it before. Things will come right.'

Adding, 'You have those times in your career but you have no doubt about Milan. He is a quality player and he will overcome this situation, no danger.'

I'd say there is a danger, a danger of them being replaced in the transfer window if they don't start banging the goals in for Villa! I'd still love to see Baros turn on the style though, with a run of fitness and a bit of confidence, he could still be a great striker for us.

Very much "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". After Saturday's performance, neither of them deserve to wear a Villa shirt. No commitment, always have an excuse -in a word "crap". Get rid of both of them. I'd rather see the kids playing until we can get some real quality up front. Forget about "win" or "lose" let's just see more passion up front.

Both Angel and Baros are more than capable of delivering the goods on a regular basis. Both have their critics, but both will hopefully come through this lean spell and begin to get the goals that will set us up nicely for an interesting season.

anyone want Phillips back?

What does Angel know about scoring goals? It's 3 years now since he's done his job properly!

Baros is quality and did a lot to keep us out of trouble last year. Stick with him he will come good. Angel im not so sure about but lets face it......we all love him so lets just get behind them both.

Ill only be happy we we have the all english strike force of Moore, Gabby, Defoe and Darren Bent...

all english strike force!!!!!!!!!!!! ind musical are you sure most of those qualify to be english, I mean its quite apparent that a few of our players come from a mixed heritage (perish the thought), IMHO they could be from anywhere and any race as long as they score goals, but my guess is that you didn't realy mean it to sound the way it does, did you?

Its good that the players are openly backing and supporting one another, but there comes a time when the talk has to stop, and the action begins.
