Out-and-out Goalscorer Required

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Bobbyfett, what position Martin O'Neill needs to strengthen the most with all those lovely pounds that Mr Randy Lerner will be supplying!

The overwhelming majority said Villa need an out-and-out goalscorer with 84% voting for that option.

7% said we need a winger with Shaun Wright Phillips no doubt high on most people's shopping lists!

5% voted that Villa needed a new goalkeeper.

1% voted for more defenders and the same percentage said a midfielder leaving 2% saying he needs to strengthen the missionary position (ahem, thanks for that option Bobbyfett!)

Easier said than done I'm afraid. Even Arsenal would like another 20+ goal scorer.

yup, that is the trouble, there isn't a team in the land who don't want exactly the same player. Ruud van Nistelrooy was the biggest muck up Ferguson has ever made for instance, fancy letting your top scorer for the last 1000 seasons go?! Think it was the last 1000 anyway, although wasn't he second in 1872?

The first of many to start clamouring for a goal scorer ... every club needs one ,
dazednconfuzed
I know MON likes his target men but what about Darren Bent who's quick and playing well in a bad Charlton team! Imagine Him, Gabby, SWP in a forward line. Like whippets!
Gazvilla
Every football team on earth will be calling Charlton in January about Bent

Agree with comments made in the previous postings. Yes, we certainly need a proven, quality, twenty goal per season man, we have the cash, but to who do we turn? There's not too many out there who fit the bill.

bent or defoe please

Someone capable of leading the line and holding the ball up. A younger Chris Sutton if you like, and someone to feed off him.
