Gareth Barry Hunts Down 13 Or More

Gareth Barry Hunts Down 13 Or More

Villa skipper Gareth Barry is aiming high as he looks to emulate and beat the 12 unbeaten run Villa managed under John Gregory at the start of the 1998/99 campaign.

The 25-year-old left sided midfielder (hint hint McClaren) and left back told the official site:

'I'd heard Everton had lost after Saturday's game to leave us as the only unbeaten team and it's been a brilliant start. If people had said at the start of the season we would have been the last unbeaten team, it would have been hard to believe especially with the away fixtures facing us at Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea.'

'That was an unbelievable start we had under John Gregory a few years back and, although we are not top of the league like we were then, we are still collecting the points. Can we beat the record? It's a tough ask. There are so many tough teams. The confidence is there and we don't roll over now so it is possible. It is maybe a mini target for us to achieve but in between we want to pick up as many points as possible.'

Main threat is Liverpool I think. Fulham I'd say home win, Blackburn we can win or draw, Everton the same although that is a tough game. Wigan we owe a good hiding! Boro are poor this season, etc etc. But Liverpool, although not firing on all cyclinders, more often than not seem to do us.

Christo, had to remove that remark, as much as most agree, it was libellous and we don't want any trouble!

Even though I think he was the worst appointment England could have made, let's hope McClaren turns things around. We don't want FA suits sniffing around Villa Park do we ?

UP THE VILLA and yes McClaren is a complete ************** who was probably ************ when Barry scored and Downing was more than likely ******** it up the ******* with the rest of the middlesbrough team waiting for their call up, but back to the main problem, Another half brain in charge of our beloved national team who are a close second in my heart to the mighty Villa, yes O'Neil would be my choice as England manager, but they cant have him, mmmmm but maybe they can!!!!! Lerner Industries Conglomerate Inc multinationals secret underground laboratories are working on a way to clone O'Neil as we speak, as part of a dastardly plan to plant O'Neils in all of the major positions in all of the sports across the world, thus gaining control over the hearts of the populace. all part of Randys plan to take over the world. Mwah mwah mwah
