Top Of The Flops In England Return?

Villa fans will recognise one of the faces in the Croatian squad who face England on Wednesday night as non other than our £6million flop Bosko Balaban is back in the frame for his country.

Balaban joined Villa whilst John Gregory was in charge but failed to impress him or his pre-decessor Graham Taylor and was eventually allowed to leave on a free to Club Brugge in 2003.

However the striker, who turns 28 this week, still hasn't given up showing the English what he can do as he told Club TV:

'I still want to play football for another four or five years, that is certain. If I cannot play, then I want to leave, that is unfortunate but I will not sit on the bench. There are enough clubs in Europe who want me, but I would gladly return to United Kingdom. For me United Kingdom and Spain are the strongest competitions and would definitely try once again.'

He'll be lucky! Think he's done ok in Belgium and to be fair he never got a real chance at Villa, but can't see any Prem clubs wanting him

Can still see the one-on-one chance he had at Southampton early on in his time with us. He put it just wide of the post. If he'd scored that, he'd have scored a bucketful!
