Chris Sutton has odds of 250/1 from betfair to be the Prems top scorer this season.

Martin Rogers at the Mirror has an exclusive report today saying that Randy Lerner is set to give Martin O'Neill a six-year contract worth in the region of £15million. And to think I applied for the job and would have done it for £50 000 a year. Randy's first big mistake you think? What do you mean no you miserable buggers! Full article: Click Here
The home clash with Blackburn Rovers has been shifted from Saturday November 4 to Sunday November 5 at the bloody stupid time of 2pm. The switch has been made as a consequence of Rovers' Uefa Cup involvement.

Villa reserve boss Kevin MacDonald will stand in for Steve Staunton for the Republic of Ireland as Stan serves a one-match touchline ban! He told the official site from his farm, 'I've known Steve for a long time, having met him at Liverpool and through Aston Villa. We talk a lot about football; we have done over the years, so we think along very similar lines. Between Steve, myself, Alan and Pat we hope we will cover all eventualities. But I'm not afraid to make any decision if it has to be made.'

Former Republic of Ireland keeper Seamus McDonagh is set to join Villa as the new goalkeeping coach, following the departure of Eric Steele. McDonagh worked alongside Martin O'Neill at Leicester before being sent to Coventry.

Martin O'Neill has said that striker Luke Moore could be back in Premiership action as early as January. It was feared that the 20-year-old might miss the entire season due to shoulder troubles. Full article: Click Here

Martin O'Neill on Stiliyan Petrov: 'Can Petrov have as big an impact as Lampard? You are hoping that is right. That is why Petrov has come down here. He wants to play Premier League football and I think he is capable of making a big impact in this division. I thought he did very well at the weekend against Chelsea, defensively and also breaking forward up the pitch, and the goals will come as well. When he gets to know the players and the surroundings a bit better, he will be flying. Lampard and people like that are the yardstick. They have proved it.'

Ticket info from official site: Tickets for Villa's home game against Middlesbrough are now on general sale. The match, on Saturday November 25 (kick-off 3pm), against Gareth Southgate's men is a Villa Value category game. The claret and blue boys will be looking to avenge the 2-3 defeat from last season, where Luke Moore and Steven Davis goals were not enough against the team from Teesside. To get hold of your ticket, contact the consumer sales team on 0871 423 8101.* Villa's Carling Cup game against Leicester City on Tuesday 24th October is now sold out.

When did Eric Steele leave? I missed that one. Got to say I'm glad about this. Perhaps the new goalie coach can teach Tommy to come off his line, command the penalty area and even to catch the odd cross. If he can we'll have one helluva goalie!!

Last few days TheQ. It was always on the cards though, MON likes his own people. Steele joined in 2001 under JG, so did well in footballing terms to last this long!

I think it's as much about freshening up the goalkeepers, as the squad have had a resurgence with the new coaches. The goalkeepers get a new regime.
