'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All Time Low For Lee Hendrie

Lee Hendrie, currently on loan at Stoke, has told the Daily Star, after being left out by David O'Leary and more recently Martin O'Neill, that

'It's probably been the worst time of my career. You find yourself not playing, your confidence goes but that comes as a package - if you're not playing, you think you're not good enough. And that's why I wanted to come and play football here at Stoke - to get that lift to try and rebuild my confidence.'

Adding: 'Sometimes I would be in the squad and on the bench but not getting on. I've spoken to so many Villa fans who have been saying don't leave. This isn't something I want to do but I'm not playing football and that's what I want to do. I've always said I would love to see out my career at Villa and that would be an honour for me. So we'll see.'

Although Villa through and through, he causes more trouble off the pitch than on.

I stop moaning you spoiled little ********. Each time he comes out with the same crap about "it's been the worst time of my life". 99.9% of us have a much harder time of life than you Lee so just shut it!!!!! He could have been a Villa legend á la Ian Taylor but instead he's turned into a whinging pile of dog pooh! I know we are low on squad numbers but I've heard this one time too many! Just stay there Lee, you are not welcome the wear the hallowed colours any more as far as I am concerned, just sod off!!!!

If he's put in the effort in training etc he'd be in the team. He can stay at Stoke imo.

I am happy for him to be given the same chance that every player has this season. Every body had a clean slate and it is up to them to make the most of it. Every player has so far and if some competitive football gets Hendrie back to the required level then that can only be good for the Villa. Besides there is a commercial aspect to all of this. If he is 'got rid' as some have put it then he has no sale value to the club. If we get him back fit and get some football out of him (and we know he has the ability) then we may get a £million plus for him. Despite the new owners Villa still need the cash. On a slightly diferent note, it is fairly well known that most of the Hendrie family are Blue Noses. I can say from personal experience that Hendrie is Villa through and through. I was also up at Bodymoor Heath on a work related issue a few days ago and Hendrie was their with his kids. They were dressed head to toe in Villa kits with their names on the backs. Only a small point I know but it shows where his heart lies. I think it can also be important to realise that the press's slant on a story can influence your point of view. I say give him a chance. All the other players have been and he should be offered the same opportunity.

I guess he should start doing the talking with his feet. he is a bit of a baby I remember seeing an interview with him once and h e looked like he was gonna start crying

He can ******* well stay there. Maybe if he actually focused on the football rather than getting money and getting sloshed all the time, then he wouldnt be in this "All time low" of his so called career. *Rant Over* :)
Layzee
he's a p******d he should shut up not sup up another case of too much money too soon
mvmiller
Like i said before, Stoke can keep him.
The Usual Suspect
he isnt going to leave, he's waiting for his pay day isnt it his testimonial year this year?
andrew144
The main point is he's just not good enough too inconsistent and if we are aiming for the top four we need better.
chris the villan
Move on Lee, move on. Stop holding on to your Villa dream. Its over, gone.
