Lerner Restoring Pride Of Villa

The new owners of Aston Villa have shown once again they are going to respect and cherish the history and grandeur of Aston Villa. Whilst the old lot were willing to let the greatness of Villa go to wrack and ruin, Randy Lerner and his merry men are going to restore the mighty legacy.

What am I on about?! RAL have announced that renovation work has commenced on the famous and fabulous old building the Holte Hotel on the corner of Witton Lane and Trinity Road.

They explain The current work is intended to ensure a safe environment for the restoration of the interior and exterior fabric of the building.

Specific uses for the building are still under consideration. Renovation works will, however, return the building to its original condition and make for a fitting landmark on the approach to the ground.

Pub? Museum? Both? Anything would be good, lets just get that superb building back up and rocking!

Always thought it would be ideal as a pub. Great location, great old fashioned styling, just.... err.. great. lol

Is this really Aston Villa? I'm getting confused!! I'm just not used to all this, If I were a girl I'd have Randy's children ( I am so thankfull that I am not a girl though ;o) )

Just doesn't seem right all this contentment and good news does it? What can we moan about? ******* hell, even the sun is shining! :( LOL

I think a statue of Ron Saunders would be a great landmark as the forefront to the new building. Have this located right on the junction of Witton Lane and Trinity Road. Any other suggestions??

recycle small heath through a grinder, use the reconstituted stone to make a man made mountain along the lines of mount rushmore in the states, ours could be mount randy more (for all you ladies out there and VOTN obviously) and then we could have the the Villa legends carved into the rock face.

i know the building, but i've never been inside. is it big enough to be a villa museum? because that would be fitting. i also think the ron sunders statue is a great idea.

Brilliant news I used to go to watch the Aston Villa amatuer boxing team fight there, it had a huge function room. Was also the place to grab food when lining up for tickets for the norwich and everton league cup finals.

Went to the shop on Sat at the Villa village. In need of some work this area. The car park surface etc. Pretty sure it hasn't escaped his notice. MON said that he was talking to Randy about the training ground and the next day the bulldozers were in. Amazing stuff. When can we start rumourmongering about transfer targets?

I could'nt believe it when I saw it.He is definitely an all or nothing guy.A pub decorated with Villa's history would be fantastic. Can this really be the Villa, if I had wings I would take off!

Would be awesome as a museum I think, and seriously, wtf is going on?! I don't think I've woken up from the dream this season, but this ontop, and the news about the '82 boys dinner, it seems like Randy really wants to revive our legacy. Long may it continue!

I used to use that thing as an example of how badly Ellis was lacking in any commercial accumen. The least he could have done was sold fast food or shirts from it on match days. I personally would love a museum or even better some sort of pub with a hall of fame theme. Ill meet you in the Villa Legends for a drink before the game.
