Luke Moore Faces Surgery

Luke Moore could be facing a lengthy spell out of the team after he exacerbated his shoulder problem yesterday against Chelsea.

Moore has struggled with shoulder problems over the last few seasons but is usually able to pop the shoulder back in.

Yesterday the injury was worse and he was left in a great deal of pain and was unable to get it back in place. Ouch.

The 20-year-old striker who has two goals to his name so far this season in the Premiership came off after 40 minutes and Martin O'Neill said:

'It looks a nasty one and he'll see the doctors on Monday. It might need surgery and if it does, he could be out for quite a bit of the season. So that's a big worry.'

It could be a blessing in disguise. I've always thought that Luke needs to carry more strength and muscle in his upper body. This may be be reason for his continuing shoulder problems. No doubt the specialists will look at this and sort it out permanently. Good luck Luke and come back soon.

Hope it isn't too bad as he's done well so far this year, but if there's a problem there it would be better doing the full job rather than just a patch one.
Tierney
If he adds strength to his game then he will be superb and will probably double the goals he got last seasonl. I really rate him.

Makes the blow of not signing Milner on deadline day even bigger now, as he would have been the perfect replacement out wide. Does this spark the change to 4-4-2 with Gabby on the right and Baros partenering Angel in attack? Not bad timing for that really with 2 home games approaching.

ooh this is an interesting one, i have a sneaking feeling it'll be 442 with Whittingham on the left wing.
industrial_musical
or maybe baros-angel-gabby? or time to bring in berger on the left flank?
nikkersen
baros doesnt look to happy/comfortable playing wide left.... 4-1-3-2, mcann HAS to play defensive midfield, hes been a rock lately, glad to see him back

More on Moore from the official site; "I don't want to pre-empt things but it looks as if he'll need an operation because this time he hasn't been able to put it back in again. "Sometimes he has been able to slot it back in, but he wasn't able to this time. If that's the case, it would be a severe blow to us because it will take months and months and months. I believe this could be a season threatening injury. "He didn't want to have the operation. He needs it tightening and he needs to get it strengthened because if he doesn't, it's only going to cause him more problems. "It's a problem I didn't even know about until pre-season when I saw him holding his shoulder in a game. "Next thing I know, it's coming out and it's a real problem. It's a blow to us and to him. If he has to have the operation it would be a real shame because we've got a bit of momentum and we've got nothing to fall back on."

Baros doesn't look happy full stop! When gabby scored they all celebrated and baros awkwardly tried to join in. Body language wan't good. 442 looks a possibility, with Berger on the left and gabby on right, jpa and baros upfront possibly. Barry is doing well at LB, I can see Bouma being shipped off somewhere and JLS hopefully!

if its a recurring problem as mr fear's update suggests, then its best to get it sorted properly, a stint of physio should get him beefier. whoever MON plays and in whatever formation, we'll do well.

I wouldn't get rid of Bouma, he's a class act when he gets his fitness back. JLS is a waste of space.

Moore needs to get it pinned if it`s the same shoulder injury that Bryan Robson had for England. Good luck to the lad, have the op and physio, build up the shoulder and we will see him after Christmas. He`s only 20, quick healiers?
Fletch
Good Luck to Moore, he's been outstanding this season, doing his job going forward and coming back the other way, tracking full backs' runs. Baros doesn't look fit/happy on the left, hopefully he'll come back stronger after the Int. break. Ridge at left back, Laursen, Mellberg, Hughes? Barry, McCann, Petrov, Gabby wide right, Baros and Angel?
Bones_Villan
Best get it done and over with. Good luck to him.
