Great Game, Shame About The Ref

Great Game, Shame About The Ref

After seeing that game on t'interweb I have a few comments to make:

1) Graham Poll is a disgrace! I don't know if he is just intimidated by Chelsea or if he is in fact a Chelsea fan but some of those decisions were disgraceful, especially the foul on Angel where a good argument could be made for a sending off as I believe that he was the last man (looked that way from the camera angle). Having said that, I think, given the chances each side created, a draw was about right.

2) Can we have Sean Wright Phillips please? Chelsea use him so rarely and he'd get a regular game at Vill Park. Come on Sean, you know you want to be a VP legend.

3) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!

4) Can we have Drogba? Villa are crying out for a player like him. The best I can think of that might be available is John Carew. I personally don't like him or rate his skills but you can't argue with his scoring record.

5) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!

6) Melberg is a rock, what a class act.

7) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!!

8) Ridgewell is great coming forward, a dimension that many centre-halves lack.

9) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!!

10) I'm so glad that Barry is ours! Even when out done but Robben's and Phillips' pace he remained composed.

11) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!

12) Our defence is so composed it is unbelievable!! Even facing some of the best attacking players in the world they were not phased. Well done lads!!!

13) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!

14) Baros is starting to look sharp. I just hope that he and Angel can play together alot more as there was a lack of understanding at times.

15) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!

16) Angel may not have his shooting boots on but he certainly is playing well, setting up play, holding up the ball, winning aerial battles (against Terry - that was great to see) and defending like a hero.

17) Graham Poll is a disgrace!!!

18) Gabby WILL be a star!!!!!!!

19) GRAHAM POLL IS A BLOODY DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Graham Poll was a complete joke today! All bias aside I would seriously reccomend an investigation into any betting going on in the Poll family, coz he must've had money on Chelsea today!!! Worst referee I've seen in such a long time!

lets just count ourselves lucky that he hadn't placed a bet on a last minute Chelski penalty, cheatin, biased, blind, the type of ref who gives other refs a bad name, and truly earns his ******** in black tag. he should be barred from reffing a sunday league match never mind the premiership, I hope the powers that be look into his performance, if that was in any other work place he would get sacked. robbed by the ref. I'm a neutral, but I watched it on the Web this afternoon, and Poll's performance was indeed disgraceful. Every slight Villa misdemenour was harshly punished, whilst he gave Chelsea every opportunity to get an un-deserved win with a string of dubious decisions. He did the same against us (Man City) last year when we played the Gooners. I was so incensed at the time, I did an article about it: http://www.manchestercity.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=18019 Villa - you were robbed today, just as we were. The FA really need to look into these matches as they are suspicius to say the least

graham poll was the man in charge of Australia v Croatia at the world cup. did anyone see this?? man it was a pitiful loss of control. he was allowing rugby tackles, gave one guy 3 yellow cards. so at least he is consistent! at least we got a point, up the villa!!

I don't believe having even a half decent referee would have changed the result of this game (I was fortunate enough to watch it live out of Singapore) however Graham Poll made two awful judgements 1) Chelsea's goal should have been disallowed as Terry impeded Thommo when the cross came in & 2) Makalele should have been sent down the tunnel quicker than Arjen Robben (who's tantrum when substituted did not dispell the general feeling he is a spoilt brat). Gary Birtles made a comment during the match that there is currently a theory circulating the Premier League that the big four are getting preferential treatment by referee's. If that is the case, look no further. Great comment from MON after the match on Poll who suggested he may wish to spend Sat night with fish & chips watching a replay of the match - nuff said!

Yeah well what do you expect from the *****ty ref that is Graham Poll. As an Australian, messing with me in the early mornings is a lost cause, and he did just that in the Australia vs Croatia match, it was a god damn disgrace, not only the 3 yellow cards to whoever it was, but that late goal he disallowed we shouldve won 3-2, anyways nuff bout that. But down here on Fox Sports we have Total Football, the show that wraps up the EPL and the A-League, which is coming along nicely, my team Sydney F.C just signed Benito Carbone (remember him, how could you not!?). And yeah, Total Football has a segment in the show called the weekly Graham Poll award, awarded to the fools of the week. Last week it was awarded to that player from Portsmouth who used his head and face to keep the ball from going out, near the corner flag. Fools, Fools...but yes I am happy with the result, Too strong Villa, Too Strong
