'If It's Football, It's Vital'

James Milner Focussed On Newcastle

James Milner says he is determined to cement a place back in the Newcastle team following his transfer collapse to Aston Villa this summer.

Following his performance against West Ham (2-0 to Newcastle) he said 'It's great to be back in the team. You want to be playing every week, and Newcastle is a great club. We have some great players and all I want to do is give 100 per cent and try as hard as I can. It's down to me to perform and put in the performances, and if I do well the manager can't pick anyone else. My aim is to keep playing well.'

Villa could still return for Milner during the January transfer window.

Somehow why don't I beleive him?

he's in while Nobby is injured. He's a sensible, well advised young man who knows what to say. I believe come January he will return to the place he is wanted and appreciated. He is undoubtably a talented player who always gives 100%

Just over three months to the transfer window and counting!

What else can he say, Newcastle are paying his wages. Nowhere does it suggest that he won't be out of there in Jan.

I hope he ends up here at Villa Park in the new year, but whatever happens I wish him well. He was one of the very few shining lights in last seasons dark, depressing campaign, always giving his all for the claret and blue cause.

Newcastle will be out of europe by feb, they're struggling to beat the non-entity teams in the uefa and everytime i've watched them i've just wanted to sleep. its much better and far cheaper than sleeping pills! Under MON Milner will be class, but saying that I'd be class under MON. life is sweet, no losses, great manager, no doug. throw in a fat guy and some reindeer and you've got christmas!

what Jimmy is doing is keeping it coolhe knows there is no pint in moaning after the deadline because he wouldn't get the transfer so he is just playing for them until Janurary arrives and when its Janurary am sure he will be kicking and screaming until he is sold to Villa

Thank you for your interest in our player! We signed James from Leeds United when nobody else was willing to take a chance. Of course he is happy at United - who wouldnt be? he plays in front of a 52,000 crowd every home game, and the fans love him. We don't want him to leave as he's very much part of our future - but if our misguided manager/chairman do sell him, we wish him well - but it'll cost yer!

UTD - the voice of common sense. Who isn't going to enjoy playing in front of a packed SJP. The more rumour around, the more he'll cost us.
