North America Backed For Pre-Season

North America Backed For Pre-Season

Vital Villa asked, via a poll suggestion from Equatorialvilla, where Villa should tour next pre-season?

61% said North America - wonder if that would include Cleveland! ;-)
16% voted for a tour of Continental Europe and 6% said Scandinavia.

That left 9% wanting a tour of the Far East and an split for South America and The Caribbean both on 4%.

Our latest poll asks if Lee Hendrie should be played.

Would certainly be the obvious choice if Lerner wants to market us over there

I think we should play Birmingham City in a two legged match over there, now that would be a great advertisement for English football ;) Just imagine those yanks....Gee Billy look at those guys from the UK go, those redish coloured ones keep kicking the bejesus out of the blue ones. And they say football is a girls sport... haha sorry made me laugh anyway haha

North America seems to be the latest craze for pre-season tours, but I'm not sure that its more beneficial than playing in Europe against decent opposition. The long flight, time differences, etc etc can all have an effect, plus it can get a damn sight hotter in parts of the U.S. late July, early August time, certainly hotter than European destinations. North America would give us the opportunity to play in Ohio though, against the Columbus (state capital) Crew, which is just a three hour drive south from Cleveland, an easy jaunt for Browns fans to drive down to and check us out.
