Villa Defender Ridgewell At Top
Liam Ridgewell is proving a good few doubters wrong as he currently tops the Actim Index chart for defenders.
Actim is the official players ratings system of the Premiership and Ridgewell has more than earnt his place at the top and hopefully he'll build on that and stay there!
Many fans lost faith in Ridgewell for a few displays last season but this season he has served a timely reminder that if we want the youth players to come through, we've got to show patience. Mind you, I'm being a bit of a smart arse, as I was laughed at when I said he is a future Villa captain, he could also go on and represent England if he carries on progressing!
Ridgewell contribution includes one goal, two shots, twenty tackles, six clearances, five interceptions, five blocks, and 25 passes in 380 minutes.
Villa skipper Gareth Barry is currently ranked the sixth best midfielder, further strengthening his claim for an England re-call.

I think the whole team should grow a viking beard (if they can) and all dye their hair blonde and have Olof on the back on their shirt. A team of Olof's... interesting...

He's learned a lot from the personal trials and tribulations that he experienced last season, and is developing very nicely. Good luck to him, he deserves the plaudits that are coming his way.

My mate calls him log head. Not sure why but it seems to fit for some reason. I dont think we will ever see him bringing the ball out from the back and finding a pass a la rio ferdinand but he seems to do the bread and butter jobs well.
