Villa Fans Sorry About James Milner?

Vital Villa asked if you were upset that James Milner couldn't sign for Villa.

64% said yes, he is a top player.
29% said his signing would have been nice but they weren't too bothered.
6% said no, we should be aiming higher.
1% said they were unsure.

The strong rumours about him being re-called suggest that Newcastle thought they were going to get Mark Viduka from Middlesbrough and when that 'move' fell through, Milner was re-called.

He would have been excellent cover for the right or even left flank. I think that come January or even next season if he doesn't come then we'll buy someone better. We could do with some finished articles.

must admit, with some money, we may well start aiming a bit higher, although I do like the idea of bringing in the rough diamonds and moulding/building a team, seeing it develop slowly and for the long term.

Would love to see Milner back under O'Neill and Robertson. We all know the lad has potential and under the guidance of those two I think he could turn into a very fine player.

i'd swap milner for hendrie any day, he still has potential and would probably cost us around the same on wages etc, so we could buy milner offload hendrie and still buy big namers

I think Milner was class, he is only 20 and with the right coachoing staff to point him in the right direction he could be an excellent addition to our squad. He must be gutted to be stuck with the barcodes. Perhaps January.

Wonder if MON will make another move in Jan or not..... I guess it depends on what sort of money Randy is going to back him with. If its 10 mill then Milner would be a great signing. If its 30 mill then I'd prefer Wright Phillips or a classy foriegner.

come on guys were not chelsea, Milner is better than our options on the flanks at the moment and would represent a step forward plus he is only going to get better over the next few years.

Milner would have been a very good signing, providing us with the sort of options that we currently dont have available.

I agree with The Fear on this one. Its important to buy not just for now, but for the future. Milner has potential i think. I hope we get him in January.
