Do Villa Need A New Goalkeeper?

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by No1Villan, do Villa need a new keeper.

The majority, with 55%, said no and backed Thomas Sorenson.

31% said we did a change between the posts, 5% suggested using Stuart Taylor first and 9% remained on the fence saying they were undecided.

sorenson has good games but he does have some clangers too! taylor wont ever get a chance we could do with a class act between the posts

Do Villa need a new goalkeeper ? No.
pongogidman
maybe we dont but it would be nice to have a class keeper.
samtozer
Oh come on. Give the guy a break. He has to be given an even chance just like the rest of the team. MON will deliver his verdict on this question in his on good time and we need not worry about pointless questions like this.
myleftfoot
Still thinks he makes to many mistakes, think its not neccesarily a priority to buy one in January but within the next year definately.
Villa1982
I dont think we do. He's one of the better keepers in the premiership in my opinion, certainly no worse than the majority of others. Of the positions that need strengthening in our current squad, I would think that a new keeper falls somewhere down the list of priorities.
glensider
i thought his name was STUART Taylor?
gmvillan
I think leave it all to martin o neil, he will decide wether aston villa need a new goalkeeper. I think sorenson will do the job this season.
swanzboichris
There's a young goalkeeper doing the business on loan at Watford from Man United... Foster seems to have great potential and could be a star of the future, why not buy him now and he could take over from Sorensen in a few years?
industrial_musical
it is Stuart GM, my mistake, was rushing to get out!
The Fear
I think we need a world class keeper at villa if we want to callenge for the prem & in europe. most of the giants in the prem & europe all have them as it is probably the most important position on the pitch.Lets hope MON is on the look out for next season..! By the way have we replaced our chief scout..?
deemz
could be worse, we could still have James! or Enklemen
hammie
nothing wrong with Sorenson but there is better out there. I think it depends on where we aim to finish. If you were looking at the team and prioritise where we need changes, I would say goalkeeper is not high on the list.
tylervilla
we should sign hilderbrand, (germanys 3rd or 4th choice keeper) as lehman and kahn are both retiring he will play and as with most german keepers will be a class act.
son_of_cher
No I think it's fine as it is. He's always fairly high in the premiership keeper stats

Much of the criticism directed against Sorensen has been unfair. I mean, any goalkeeper would look uncomfortable given the defensive - and managerial - frailties of last season. So far this season Tommy and the back 4 look to be on top of their game.
pongogidman
some days hes good and i respect him for that but when hes bad hes ****in ***** i watched us play at home against wigan last season he let 2 goals in that i could of saved with one hand
claret + blue army
Sorenson's a good enough goalie. What he needed last season was a decent back 4 in front of him, and let's be honest last season they just weren't that good. So far this season they look much better. Long may it continue.

Would you like Cudicini? ;-) You are so lucky to have Lerner. Good luck in the next transfer window.
USA
You got a good Keeper already. Don't be greedy. We all want you to have a crap one so we can stuff lots of goals pat you.
POMPEYMEV
past you................ Only joking.... Good luck
POMPEYMEV
If Sorenson got injured the view might change!
