Unoial Villa News...

Sheffield United midfielder Phil Jagielka is once again being linked to Aston Villa. DOL also targeted the United player last season but nothing came of it.

Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that Villa have agreed to pay £8million for Celtic's Bulgarian international Stilian Petrov.

Former Villa right back Ulises De La Cruz has joined the Reading on a free transfer after leaving Villa Park at the end of last season. The 32-year-old Ecuador international has signed a one year deal with the club.

Scunthorpe United's manager Brian Laws says their second round Carling Cup game against Aston Villa is 'the pick of the round' and should be on tv.

I hope the jagielka link is just paper talk as DOL was always linked with him because we should be looking to bring in much , much better quality players than jagielka....!

I know I am an uninformed old fart but I have just seen the report on the 'Clubcall' site that Villa are targeting a French international, Sidney Govou. Reportedly a right midfield or striker. What are the opinions of fellow Villians about this guy?

Not a solitary negative comment in the above article, yet plenty of positives. Things are very definitely taking a turn for the better down B6 way.

According to radio WM we are likely to sign 3 players before midnight on Thursday. Petrov is sure to be one but anyone care to guess at the other 2?
