How To Honour Villa Team of 82

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by sak0101, how the team of 82 should be honoured.

76% said a statue outside Villa Park.

8% said rename the Ellis stand (Witton Stand) the Team of 82.

1% said get the Queen to knight them and a further 1% said a 25th anniversary meal.

That left 14% saying anything, just honour them!

I reckon a kind of Hall of Fame at VP so that people can make the pilgrimage from all over the world. I also think that the club should organise a reunion of the 80/81, 81/82 team and they could do the lap of honour to celebrate the dawn of a new era. The new era we should of got once we won the championship in 81!

And so say all of us! (well 76% of anyway). Every ******* one of them a hero and if it wasn't for Mr "I'm not bitter and twisted really" Herbert, we'd have had one for years. Somewhere for the new breed of lions, who weren't around in '82 to stand in awe and believe! P.S. Anyone heard the latest on Petrov? Been out all day and just read teletext, Happy Harry reckons he's coming our way!

Petrov's agent is in Brum apparently. The deal can be done by fax whilst Petrov is in Bulgaria.

A hall of fame and a reunion on the pitch before a game clapped on by the current team, MON & Randy.

Anybody seen the Holtenders site reporting a 100 million sponsorship deal!!!!!!

They could have a Charity Football game for "local area" + a replica Medal stamped available for the Villa Faithful to buy, you can still buy the shirts from Villa Village. All procedes split between Local Charities, PFA and Aston Villa FC. A statue in Bronze would cost thousands of pounds and would be a no brainer, however a Bronze plaque depicting the final (team of photo of PWithe scoring) would be a more practical. Mounted outside the "Holte End would be perfect. (could get Karl Rummenige to Unviel it) He was not a little bitter and twisted after the game was he.

A statue outside of the ground would be the perfect honour for the heroes of Rotterdam. A great Villa team who deserve to be honoured for their efforts, not only in becoming European Champions, but for lifting the domestic League Championship trophy the previous season.
