Barry Signs!

Moments before the Aston Villa V Newcastle match, it was announced that Villa captain Gareth Barry has signed a new 4-year deal with the club.

After weeks (well months) of speculation, this year`s new captain has agreed a deal which will take him through to 2010.

Great news, isn't it!

Barry signed up, Petrov on the way, Olly back to his best, the youngsters playing out of their skins...is it too early to start thinking about the Champions League ?

The club wrapped that little transaction up pretty quickly. Most unusual for AVFC. Is this the way of the future at B6? Certainly hope so. Another captains performance today by Gareth.
