Villa get Scunthorpe

Aston Villa have been drawn against League One side Scunthorpe in the second round of the Carling Cup.

Scunthorpe, currently 22nd in the division, above Crewe Alex and Rotherham (who to be fair are on -4 points) will no doubt see this as a plum tie. Sky Sports last season would no doubt have been there, awaiting an upset.

The tie will be played at Glanford Park at some point during the week of the 18th September 2006.

Round 3. Hope its a home tie against Wrexham.

I think Villa should take the League Cup seriously this year, surely their best chance of a trophy and qualification for Europe?

After Doncaster I'm taking nothing for granted. Dont want to experience a drive home like that again.
