Kevin Phillips Moves To WBA

Kevin Phillips Moves To WBA

West Bromwich have completed the signing of Aston Villa striker Kevin Phillips.

The fee was £700,000 and he will wear the number 21 shirt.

The 33-year-old has agreed a two-year contract

Phillips said: 'I'm delighted to sign. When I look at West Brom's squad you can see they've managed to keep hold of most of the players from last season. It's a strong squad. I've spoken to the manager here and I have great respect for him. I feel the club has got an excellent chance of going straight back up this season.'

Adding on the Baggies official site: 'I spoke to Bryan Robson for a couple of hours and had a good chat. He told me what he wants from me and the way the club is going forward. I'd like to be a part of that and can't wait to get amongst it now.'

Good business by Villa. His winning goal at the Sty was worth the original transfer fee!

Nial Quinn probably said "Now Kevin I want you to come here, we've got a good squadon of honest lads" Phillips has thought "he sounds like o`leary, ***** that!"

it seems obvious to me. Quinn told him who the new sunderland manager would be (o'dreary) and it scared him so much he was willing to play for the tesco carrier bags.
