AV06 To End Interest In Aston Villa?

AV06 To End Interest In Aston Villa?

Rumours are growing that AV06, fronted by Padfield QC, are about to pull out of the takeover race for Aston Villa.

Michael Neville must also be close to declaring an end of interest.

That leaves Randy Lener (RAL) the clear favourite to be able to complete his takeover at £5.47 per share unless the other - non talked about group - do put a bid in today or tomorrow. As every hour passes, that looks less and less likely, so things could be getting very close for Aston Villa to declare new owners.

This is very good news if true. Randy and MON need a clear run to lift Villa to where they belong. All the bid would do would be to delay our development and stop us getting new players before the deadline.

I hope when AV06 do withdraw journalists will confront Padfield and demand to know just what the hell they have all been playing at for the past three weeks and could His Honour please confirm that he is in fact a f****n d***o, allegedly?

If he doesn't bid then i really want to know what the Judge was doing by making all those comments in the papers...why bother? What was the point?? Maybe he was paid by Doug to try to get more cash out of Randy?!

It is very much hoped by most Villans I would think, that these rumours prove to have a foundation. I can personally see nothing to be gained by AV06 continuing their 'attempts' to bid against Randy Lerner, and maybe the depth of feeling and support that Villa fans have expessed for the Lerner bid has finally persuaded Padfield and co that theirs is a pointless exercise, and that they should withdraw from the scene without further delay.

why is everyone so opposed to the padfield bid. It seems unlikley now that we will get players in before deadline (and one/two players for this season is very short term vision indeed) why dont we welcome all bids and discuss/investigate to find the best? have i missed something?
