Wolves and Saints Eye Midfielder

Wolves and Saints Eye Midfielder

Fairly 'sketchy' reports are linking Aston Villa's Lee Hendrie to both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.

The reports suggest both teams will try to get the midfielder on loan in the January transfer window having failed in their attempts to take the player before the transfer deadline last week.

29 year old Hendrie, who is due a testimonial next year for ten years service to Villa, hasn't said that he wants to leave but stated if he can't get first team football at Villa, he might have to go on loan so as not to waste the whole season.

I'm sure he must have wondered what he had to do in order to get on the pitch during Villa's woeful exit to Doncaster on Tuesday night. He will now be hoping that O'Leary may give him a chance on Saturday at St James Park as the under pressure boss surely has to try to make some changes?

Another report suggests Manchester United are primed with a £3million bid for midfielder Steven Davis.
