Randy Lerner - A Legend?

Randy Lerner - A Legend?

Lads as a man who is fanatic for American football trust me when I say, that Lerner is a legend.

The Glazers team has been in disarray since they won the superbowl and they are slowing regrouping. They had a good season last year and made the playoffs. this year they may be better. I think the United takeover screwed up both teams as the Glazers were all over the shop.

BUT Lerner? Well let me give you some back story.

The Cleveland Browns were one of the original teams in the nfl here in America. Then their owner a **** **** if I ever saw one, moved the team cause the tax payers wouldn't pay for a new stadium. (This is always a big problem over here. Millionaire owners want the city and fans to pay for the stadium and then they reap the profits.) Well Cleveland is a blue collar town much like Birmingham and the folks there couldn't afford to pay for the stadium so this old ***** moved the team to Baltimore where it won the superbowl a few years ago.

So the nfl said Cleveland is football town with great supporters, lets give them a team and so the nfl said they would allow a new Cleveland Browns to be made and Lerner stepped up and brought them a team from scratch. And they're a good team who are on the up and up and the fans are happier than ever. They love the new Browns and everyone in sports respects Lerner.

So what does this mean for Villa? Well this guy will do what it takes to put a good team on the field. He just hired a coach from the new England patriots last year and the guy is good. The owners trusted him enough and has backed him all the way, so hopefully he will do the same for Villa.

Trust me on this lads. COME ON THE VILLA. I'm very excited about this.

I have posted a bit on a Browns fan site and all the guys on there only have positives to say about Lerner. He will not accept second best if often quoted on there. Let the good times roll again.

Congratulations...what Randy Lerner lacks in understanding of any kind of football and lacks in PR savvy, he more than makes up for with a great deal of money and a will to win. His father was a great man, and if Randy is 1/2 the man his father was, you'll have one of the best owners in the EPL. Don't hate him because he's from the US either; he's no Glazer. USA

Thanks for that Paddy. Will the locals over there keep a keen eye out for the Villa games now? I hope so, because this could be the start of a beautiful thing and it would be a shame if you never joined us. Lets make lurve.

the Browns are actually not a very good team though, they've come bottom of their division the last 3 seasons, and in the bottom 5 or so (of 32) teams. Other than that, Lerner is a good man.

It says on the BBC website that Lerner inherited the team from his father. So was his dad the **** that you spoke of or was that someone else. I'm confused :s
