'If It's Football, It's Vital'

First Signing Done

First Signing of the summer folks.
Czech international Patrik Berger has reportedly agreed the terms of a two year contract with Aston Villa and will move on a free from Pompey. Berger moved to Fratton Park 2 years ago after 7 seasons with Liverpool.

Berger's agent Barry Silkman confirmed: 'There has been a lot of interest in Patrik but he is going to Aston Villa. It is a done deal.'

Berger will join Villa at the end of this month when his contract with Portsmouth expires.

Berger scored three goals this season, all stunners no doubt. We have basically got a replacement for Hitzlsperger, Villa need to up the ante if they are truly going to compete next season. Links to Baros and Kevin Phillips continue.

Thoroughly enjoyed that game, most entertaining! Spurs on the other hand, with only 1 win in 19 at Villa Park, might not have enjoyed it quite so much.
