Well, Well, Well - Good Ole Villa!

Well, Well, Well - Good Ole Villa!

Well, well, well.

You just couldn't write the script for Aston Villa, at times the plots are more unrealistic than the great Sky One football soap the Dream Team!

Martin O'Neill came to town, signed on the dotted line and came out to great a 1000 or so Villa fans.

The Villa fans sang Holteenders in the Sky, Martin O'Neil's Claret and Blue army and the obvious, Villa, Villa, Villa.

But also out came the Ellis Out chants and more interestingly, chants of USA, USA, USA, USA.

Randy is in town, is Herbert about to leave town? Well, it could be high noon at the OK Corral (or Villa Park Corral?).

Meanwhile, Martin O'Neill is looking to restore Villa to the status it enjoyed many moons ago. He said 'Villa are a mighty club and that is why I want to do it. Things have not been fantastic over the last couple of years but I am hoping to do something about that.' Adding 'I am going to put everything into it. If I am not successful it will not be for a lack of trying.'

See, he is already calling us mighty, I told you he'd talk our language!

I can't believe there are still people who question O'Neill's credentials. He turned a nothing Leicester team into a tough, vigourous unit that no one enjoyed playing. How many times did Villa manage to beat them? O'Neill's tactical nous and leadership were nearly always too good for us. As soon as he left, Leicester fell apart and they have never recovered. Before he took over at Celtic, Rangers had enjoyed an unprecedented run of success, Celtic were in chaos, desperate, much as Villa are now, but within a season he transformed them into champions and a real force in Europe. Of course it will take more time and money to do that in the Premiership but we couldn't be in better hands. With a new CEO and Chairman Aston Villa will be set to be a major force again in English football. I hope Ellis stays alive long enough to see it, and realise what a catastrophe he was for the club. Trebles all round.

Good to see the Fear isn't sleeping with the fishes this morning such is his standing with Deadly. Talking of this morning had a really strange dream last night. A reporter leaked a story about player disatisfaction, DOL was sacked, an American billionaire is on the verge of sacking Deadly and Martin O'Neill, linked to every available job, became our new manager....... please don't wake me I'm enjoying it too much.

A meagre 13,000 season tickets sold. MON PLUS A new board and my cheque book comes out. The new owners would need a bigger ticket office and in the next few years bigger VP. Twenty plus years of waste coming to an end....?

The stuff of nightmares would be that Deadly has a cunning plan to dominate the world and will remain in post saying there are no report to himsuitable bids. Didn't Randy Lerner say Deadly wanted him to report to him after the takeover. What's that all about????

Great news and what a reception. Wish I was closer to Birmingham and I would have been there too! Saw a headline that gave MON the nickname Aston Martin. Reckon that should stick!

My favourite bit of the press conference was when he said its been 25 years since we had massive success, and we are way off that now but why not try!!! Why not try indeed! Thats the attitude we want!

it is a dream, it's real, it's a dream, it's real. Can hardly decide. ONly need Ellis to dirft off into the distance with DOL as his fluffer and we will be well sorted. I'm with the USA chants all the way. UTV, Ellis Out

Can we have a little more testoterone please. No matter how much money he brings, no (male) american billionair is ever going to make me feel randy, regardless of his name. (however, here in Norway, Randi is a girls' name and I've met a few who could turn my head - don't tell the wife though.)
