Martin Laursen Returns For Villa

Aston Villa have announced the squad details for the pre-season tour of Germany and Holland.

The best of it is that Martin Laursen has been able to prove his fitness and is one of the names included, so it looks like he might be back to Premiership action sooner than expected following his career threatening knee injury.

Steven Davis (thigh strain), Patrik Berger (body strain poor chap!) and Milan Baros (ankle) are all injured and won't travel.

VILLA: Sorensen, Delaney, Samuel, Mellberg, Laursen, Barry, Hendrie, McCann, Angel, Taylor, Djemba-Djemba, Bouma, Whittingham, Hughes, Ridgewell, Phillips, Cahill, Moore, Gardner, Berson, Agbonlahor.

Great to see Laursen back. Hope he has fully recovered and we can see the best of him.

Great news about Martin Laursen. His 'comeback' has probably been the highlight of the summer to date on the playing side. Hope he comes through the tour unscathed, then who knows? Maybe we will finally get to see the quality player that we believed we'd bought.

Laursen will be out by September. Sad but true. Berger should be sacked and some kind of insurance money claimed if possible.
