Attacking Midfielder Required

Blimey, something about football, whatever next?

We asked, in a poll suggested by evoflash, where do we need players the most. Seems almost ironic to be asking when we know there is no money and ......... I'll shut up.

60% say we need attacking midfielders, we've certainly not had a playmaker since Magic Paul Merson left and the strikers are starved of supply, that is for sure.

Talking about strikers, seems the fans are happy with what we have got, if indeed we can keep them, as only 2% said we needed new forwards.

18% wanted a new central defender, 9% said tackling midfielders and a further 9% said wingers. Just 2% said wing backs.

It`s not the case of what we need, it`s what we expect to get. Strikers are a luxury if you are weak in midfield and both fullbacks? Under the present Junta, led by Corporal Ellis, we need to spend on our midfield. But with eight on the books with first team experience, it will take a coup........? to get the funds we need.

The current midfield needs to be changed. I still don't think we've ever properly replaced Townsend. Boateng was good, but we've never had that prescence in the middle of the park. A Roy Keane type player and a player in the Ian Taylor 'box to box' mould are required. Davis will get there, but there are times when he needs a rest. I also wouldn't be too bothered to see the back of McCann

Our complete midfield is crying out for a total makeover. It just isn't up to the task. Too lightweight, complete lack of any flair. Just not premiership standard.

I agree we'v got very little magic in the midfield since Merson. We'r to one dimenssional at the moment. Need some one with flair
