In-Out? In-Out? Not Doug, Berson.

In? Out? In? Out? No, not Doug, Mathieu Berson.

The official site earlier suggested that Mathieu Berson might feature in tonight's reserve game against Chesterfield.

However they have now released the squad list and his name doesn't appear!

Mark Delaney and the Djemba twins are still in contention.

New signing Yago Bellon, I'm sorry, what did I miss something when I went on holiday?, is set for his Villa debut. His twin brother Damian however will have to wait.

VILLA: Olejnik, Bridges, Green, Delaney, O'Halloran, Kabeya, Gardner, Djemba-Djemba, Williams, Osbourne, Whittingham. Subs: Lund, Henderson, Y.Bellon, Morgan, McGurk, Peric.

I think Berson is still worth a punt, with O'Dreary gone maybe he, the twins and some more might show us what they can do.

Why play the Djember twins and not the obviously more gifted and harder working Berson, i guess Aitkin is just a DOL lacky after all, i think I might take back all the nice things I've said about him.

Definitely something left over from the DOL era as far as Berson and the Twins are concerned. I can't understand why they have haven't been given a chance now DOL has gone?! Like VOTN says, Aitken is just DOL's lap dog

Thats what worries me too DougInABox. No reason why the likes of Berson and Djemba-Djemba shouldn't be given opportunities to impress. Its not as though the present midfield incumbents have actually proved that they are up to the task.

I dont think we should really read anything into this. The club is just marking time until the new manager / owners are in place.
