Still Looking For A Manager Doug?

Doug is back in his office and says he is doing everything he can to find a new manager.

Honest Doug, no need, we'll wait for new owners first!

He told the official site:

'At present, what I can say is the search is progressing well and the board and myself will leave nothing to chance during our deliberations. This football club deserves to be challenging for honours and, put simply, we're determined to install the right manager to point us in the right direction.'

'We've had some very interesting applications and the quality proves that Aston Villa is still a very desirable club for a manager, but the task now is to progress carefully yet as speedily as possible. Obviously, there's plenty of speculation around at the moment but I can assure supporters we're working around the clock to reach a positive conclusion.'

He also once again says he can't comment on the takeover speculation adding: 'I know there's speculation out there about potential takeover following our announcement of approaches to the Stock Exchange last week. But at present, this is something I am unable to comment on any further.'

Just hold fire Doug. Dont worry that head of yours about interviewing and appointing a new manager. Just get together with the prospective new owners, agree a deal to sell, and then until the takeover is officially completed let the new guys work behind the scenes on targetting the man they want to lead us into the new era.
